Blackjack is the most popular card game in the casino. This is not surprising, because it is exciting, fast and the rules of the game are easy to learn.

You often hear that the goal of blackjack is to get as close as possible to the blackjack score. That's not right. The goal as a player is to defeat the dealer.

If you have 12 points and the dealer buys "dead", you will win even if you have no 21 points so far. But first is the rules of the game. -We start from the basics. Next is an explanation of some special situations

The basis of blackjack

You play blackjack with one or more complete decks (52 cards in a deck). Like most online casinos, Holland Casino has six decks.

The value of the card is easy to remember:

-Ace: 1 or 11 points

-King, Queen, Jack ("Picture"): 10 points

-The value of the remaining cards is as much as the number on the card.

The color of the card is irrelevant to blackjack. It doesn't matter if the card is a clover, spades, diamond or heart.

In blackjack, there is always one person at the table dealing cards. This is called a dealer or "bank". All the players at the blackjack table play against the bank. So they will not fight each other.

Betting and first round match

Before the dealer starts the deal, place your bet, for example 10 euros. When all players bet at the table, the dealer deals two cards to everyone. These are opened on the table and everyone can see.

The bank also issued two cards to itself, only one of which was exposed.

Cards after the first round: You have 16 points and the bank has 4 points.

Note that in Holland Casino, the bank receives a public card. There, only after all players have completed the game, the bank will deal its second card.

Do you have blackjack?

Your first two cards are A and 10 or a picture, so are the blackjacks together? Then, you have "Blackjack".

You immediately win 1.5 times the principal. If you bet 10 euros, you now have 25 euros.

Blackjack? Then, you immediately win 1.5 times the bet.

It's your turn

Then, the player starts from the leftmost side of the player (viewed from the right side of the player), and goes one round.

When it's your turn, the dealer in the casino speaks out how many points your two cards are worth. For example, if you have an A and 6, the dealer will say "seven or seventeen". In online casinos, you will see the number of points next to the cards.

You now have three options:

1) Beware: You did not get any cards, and you kept two cards.

2) Hit: You got a card from the dealer. This is also called "purchase card". The dealer will now call out your new score. Then, you can choose again whether to pass or take the card. You can purchase any number of cards until:

You decide to pass or

Your total score exceeds 21. Then you are "dead" and your round is over. You lost the bet.

24 points are too high: you are "dead" and lose your bet.

3) Double:

You double your original bet and the dealer gives you another card. You will no longer receive any cards.

For example, if you have 11 points, this may be a wise choice. Then, your next card is very likely to be 10 and get 21 points.

In Casino, if your first two cards combined are worth 9, 10 or 11 points, they can only be doubled. In online casinos, you can often double any number of points.

But please note: Doubles are only allowed after the first two cards. It must not be doubled later in the game. Moreover, after you double bet, you always get only one card.

Two identical cards? You might split

If you have two cards of the same value, such as two 7s or a Jack and a 10, there is an additional option: split.

If you want to split the cards, please make the original bet next time. The dealer separates the two cards, and then each card gives you the second card. Therefore, you now have two hands, each with two cards. You can decide again whether to pass, hit or double.

Two nines: You can now split the card.

You only need to place the original bet once and then recieve nine.

Bank round

When all players have their turn, it's the bank's turn.

The bank now opens the second card. If the sum of the two cards is equal to or less than 16 points, the bank must take one card. This continued until the bank scored 17 points or more.

The bank must pass from 17:00. always. Even if the bank has A and 6. In this case, A always counts as 11 points.

If the bank's score exceeds 21, the bank is dead. -These rules are fixed. Therefore, the dealer can never decide for himself whether to purchase the card.

Banks will never split or double.

Payment: Profit and Loss

If the bank buys itself to death, all players on the table who are still in the game will win.

If the bank does not buy yourself away, if you have more points than the bank, you will win.

In both cases, your bet is won 1 time. If you bet 10 euros, you now have 20 euros.

The bank has 17 points, so it must pass. You won 18 points.

Unless you win blackjack. Then, as mentioned earlier, you will get 1.5 times your principal.

Do you have as many points as the bank? Then there is "isolation" or "push". You will neither win nor lose.

If your points are less than the bank, then you will lose your bet.

Five special situations

So far, what you have read is the basis of blackjack. Using these rules, you can usually work perfectly. However, before sitting down at the blackjack table, it is best to study some "special situations".

1) Insurance

If the bank's public card is Ace, you can purchase "insurance". If the bank has blackjack (ie Ace plus 10 or picture), you need to pay for this insurance.

To ensure guarantee, you bet half of the original bet. If you bet 10 Euros, you will need to pay a 5 Euro insurance premium.

The insurance cost is half of the original bet.

If the bank does have blackjack, then you will lose the initial bet, but the insurance odds are 2 to 1. In this case, you are balanced: you will not win or lose in this round.

2) Even money

If you get two Aces and 10 or one sheet first, you have blackjack. Usually, you win 1.5 times the principal.

But please note: if the bank has A or 10 as an open card, the bank may also have blackjack. Then, you must wait until the bank's second card is opened.

If the bank does have blackjack, then the tie is. So: you won't win, and you won't lose anything. unfortunately.

If the bank's public card is Ace, then the trader will ask you if you even want blackjack. This means you settle at 1x odds instead of 1.5x, but you will get that profit immediately.

If you choose even money, then if the bank also has blackjack, then you no longer bear the risk of "pushing".

Even money? In this way, even if the bank has blackjack, it can ensure profit.

3) Blackjack is different from blackjack

Note: Only if your first two cards are Aces and 10 or a face, this counts as blackjack. If you collect blackjack later in the game, this "positive" counts as blackjack.

Why is this important? Blackjack is considered to be a higher card combination than the blackjack you collect in other ways.

Suppose you have a 6, a 7 and an 8 (21 in total), but the bank has Ace King, unfortunately you lose.

If you have Ace King, and the bank has 10, 5, and 6 (also 21), then you win.

4) Split Ace

If you separate two A's, you can only get one card on each A's. After that, you will no longer be allowed to buy tickets. Therefore, the requirements must be met.

If you receive another A on one of the A, you can split these cards further.

If there are 10 or one photo on an A, it is usually not blackjack, but "normal".

By the way, every casino has its own split rules. Sometimes, if you get the same card again on the split card, it may not be split again. There are also casinos where you may not double after breaking up. If you play online blackjack, you can always click on the help function to read the applicable rules.

5) Dealer check blackjack

In online casinos and almost all casinos outside of Europe, the dealer will receive two cards immediately at the beginning of the game: one to open and one to close.

If the face-up card is 10 or A, then the dealer will peek at the face-up card to see if the dealer has blackjack. (With Ace, the dealer will naturally ask you if you want insurance.)

If the dealer does have blackjack, the game ends immediately. Unless you have blackjack yourself, all players will lose. Then your bet still exists.

Blackjack at Holland Casino is different: the dealer there only gets one card first. Only after all players have completed the move, the dealer will receive the second card. just now...

These are the rules of blackjack. After playing for a few rounds, these become second nature that you don't have to think about. -

But knowing the rules is one thing. It is also wise to explore the correct strategy. When should it be passed and when should it be separated? Is insurance wise?
